About Matthew

Sales director Matthew Jones specialises in commercial rooflights and modular building solutions. He also brings a wealth of IT and corporate management experience to the business. Matthew grew up just outside of Birmingham. Prior to joining the family business in December 2016, he earned a degree apprenticeship in business management and spent four years working in service delivery management with technology and consultancy giant Capgemini. Matthew’s specialist knowledge in commercial rooflights installation and weatherproofing modular buildings, Matthew has worked on a variety of projects, ranging from office buildings, data centres and shopping centres to transport hubs and sports venues. Some of his favourites to date include the LD11 data centre working on behalf of Laing O’Rourke and Project Churchill working alongside Mclaren and Roofdec. As sales director for Jones and Woolman UK, Matthew is passionate about the family business and has the knowledge and skills to expand and improve operations – especially in terms of modernisation and efficiency. He says his strategic decisions have two main goals, to help grow the company and ensure a high level of service and quality for clients. Matthew says that he’s looking forward to the future for Jones and Woolman UK. “Our ability to improve and adapt our services means we’re perfectly placed to help mission-critical construction across a variety of building types and industries,” he explains. “The business decisions and improvements we make today will help to ensure we stay at the forefront of the industry and can continue bringing quality and reliable solutions to our clients,” he adds. In his free time, Matthew enjoys a round of golf (or two) and has an impressive three handicap. He also enjoys spending time outdoors with his partner Lucy and Irish water spaniel Otto. His top choice of holiday destination would be anywhere in Southeast Asia: “The landscapes are stunning and there’s a simplicity of life that’s very different from back home,” he explains. He adds that his favourite film is The Gentleman, due to the movie’s great actors, even better storyline and plenty of dark comedy.
